Evidence of the so-called greenhouse effect in the southern regions of Chile

Abstract

Since 1982, a series of changes in the behavior of the earth's atmosphere have been more evident than in previous years. Some of these changes can be seen in the higher altitude at which the 00 isotherm is located, a fact demonstrated by the higher level floor, greater torrentiality of rivers, increased flooding and landslides, etc. . Accompanying a brief introduction on the subject of Global Change and the Greenhouse Effect, we describe what happened on March 16, 1989 in the area of Lake Bertrand, at 46 degrees south latitude and 73 degrees W longitude of Greenwich.
